NATIONAL JURIED EXHIBIT

Art for work. Art for play.
Call for Entries:
What sustains you as an artist, enables you to continue to create and function as a fellow human and steward of your environment? We are looking for artwork that:
·regenerates your soul and the essence of your art
·expresses and acknowledges that which renews your capacity to create
·restores your humanity in these trying times
Selected works will best exemplify one or more of these themes or ideas. Artists are asked to submit a short statement of how their work relates to a theme.
Exhibit:
Selected works will be exhibited at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center February 1st through the 26th, 2011.

David Rodriguez, Director of Sustainability, Ware Architecture
Eligibility:
Open to all artwork (2-D and 3-D) created in the last three years, with the exceptions of performance art, film, or videos. Participating artists must 18 years old or older, residing in the US. Artwork cannot exceed 48” in any direction. All work must be for sale. Entering this event constitutes agreement with all conditions set forth within this prospectus.
Awards:
There will be cash awards for:
1. Best of Show =$500.00
2. Best representation of the themes: Regenerate, Renew, Restore = $250.00
3. Best expression addressing environmental issues either by use of material or composition = $250.00
Sales: All entries and selected work must be for sale. ARTworks DFW will retain 30% commission of sales made during the exhibition; a portion of which will be donated to EASL (Emergency Artist Support League).
Entry Fee:
$30 for 3 works of art, 3-D work may include up to two additional images for detail. Make checks payable to: ARTworks DFW

Entry Submission Format: Only CD’s will be accepted. Use 1 CD for all images and files. Include artist name and email on outside of CD with permanent ink. (CD’s will not be returned)
· Jpeg format only
· image resolution 150 DPI (dots per inch)
· no single image should exceed 3 MB (megabytes)
· images should be cropped to show artwork only (no mats or frames)
· label each image file on the CD and the entry form with:
artist last name
entry#
title
example: Smith_1_Title.jpg
· for 3-D works title should match overview image with details designated as
"view 1", "view 2", etc.
example: Smith_1_Title_view2.jpg
· include a Word document on the CD with a short statement of how your artwork relates to one of the themes or ideas example: Smith_statement.doc

Accepted Artwork:
· All work must be delivered ready for installation or hanging (framed, wired, Plexiglas only for 2-D work – no glass, no saw tooth hangers)
· Assemblage and installation artists must be present for installation
· Diptych or triptych works must be framed or mounted as one piece
· All work must be labeled with artist name, title of piece, media, dimensions and pricing (POR – "Price On Request" is not an acceptable designation)
· No alternate work will be accepted as a substitute for any selected work
Sculpture:
· Artist must provide pedestal suitable for their sculpture presentation
· Small sculpture should be firmly attached to a base or pedestal provided by the artist. (Artist assumes responsibility for the safety of any small sculpture not so attached)
· Wall sculptures not to exceed 25 lbs. and must be ready to hang
· Sculpture size limited to the ability of 2 people to carry and install Every precaution will be taken in handling the entries, however ARTworks DFW does not assume responsibility for loss, theft, or damages during the exhibit.
Delivery of Work:
Delivery deadline is 01-24-11 and 01-27-11 between 10:00am and 5:00pm

All work must remain as part of the exhibit until the exhibit closes February 28th, 2011. ARTworks DFW reserves the right to reject any work misrepresented or unsuitably presented.
There will be a $30 handing fee for any shipped work. Shipped work that does not include a prepaid return shipping label or the $30 handling fee will not be returned.
(you may make arrangements to pay this fee by credit card if your work is accepted)
Pick Up of Artwork:
Pick up dates and times are: Friday and Saturday, March 4th and 5th, 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Please note: We cannot be responsible for items not picked up by this date.
