"I feel this allows the viewer to better connect with not only the artwork, but with the artist as well. By establishing a rate of exchange for art other than money, the viewer is better able to relate to the commonality between their own day to day needs and those of the artists.
Whether or not the viewer can provide the item or service the artist is requesting is less important than the dialogue that it opens up between artist and audience."
